About This Experience
A JOURNEY THROUGH THE HIMALAYA
Bhutan draws you into a world of mountain passes, monastery courtyards and valleys where the landscape sets the pace. In Nepal, the journey opens out: medieval streets and living temples give way to Phewa Lake, the Annapurna skyline and the forests of Chitwan. The pleasure is in experiencing these places together, with enough time to notice how different each one feels.
There are remarkable sights, of course. But the moments that stay with you may be smaller: a butter lamp being lit, a conversation with a young monk, or an Everest summiteer describing the mountain in their own words. Claudia travels with the group throughout, alongside national guides in each country. At the end of the day, carefully chosen hotels and lodges give you a comfortable place to settle in and let it all sink in.
Day-by-Day Overview
Bhutan makes an entrance. The flight into Paro brings the mountains close before you land in a valley framed by steep hills. On arrival, you are met and driven to Thimphu, where your first night is deliberately kept simple: settle into your room, put down your bags and give yourself time to arrive.
There is no need to make the first afternoon a race through a list of sights. The changing scenery on the drive offers a first glimpse of the country, and Le Méridien provides a comfortable base for the evening. Tomorrow, the road leads further into Bhutan. For now, the invitation is to rest and take in the mountain setting at your own pace

We choose where you stay with the same care we bring to the journey itself. Across two kingdoms, each place is chosen for its sense of place — a farmhouse suite above a glacial valley, a boutique resort where two rivers meet, a ridgetop lodge with the Annapurnas laid out before you. These are the kinds of places that become part of the memory, not simply where you close your eyes at night.

With 32 years of experience, Claudia creates and hosts journeys that bring travelers closer to the places she loves. Her approach combines cultural curiosity with an appreciation for comfort and character: a heritage hotel, a village encounter, an afternoon wandering a bazaar, a meal that becomes a conversation. She leaves room for the unexpected, knowing that an unplanned moment can become the story you take home.
Small groups and personal attention are central to the way she travels. Alongside local guides, she invites guests to engage with the people, traditions and daily rhythms that give each destination its particular spirit.
In Bhutan and Nepal, Claudia will accompany the journey throughout, bringing that same care and curiosity to monastery visits, mountain valleys and moments of quiet ceremony. Her hope is that you leave with a deeper connection to the places you’ve visited—and a few encounters that stay with you long after you return.
The Guest Mix
We keep our journeys intentionally small to create a relaxed and intimate atmosphere. Our travelers tend to share a curiosity about culture, design, and the beauty of experiencing a place deeply rather than rushing through it. This departure brings together travelers who appreciate meaningful experiences, beautiful environments, and the pleasure of discovering somewhere extraordinary. Group size is intentionally limited to maintain both connection and personal space.
To reserve your place, a non-refundable deposit of 30% per person is due at the time of booking. The remaining balance is due 100 days before departure, when flights are ticketed and arrangements confirmed. Bookings made within 100 days of departure require full payment at the time of booking.
All prices are quoted in USD. As a set departure, this journey requires a minimum number of travelers to proceed; we reserve the right to adjust pricing based on currency fluctuations, airfare changes, or final group numbers prior to confirmation.
Cancellation Terms
We understand that plans change. Our refund schedule is as follows

61–99 days before departure — 60% of the total trip price
60 days or fewer before departure — no refund
Force majeure — should travel be prevented by events beyond our control, payments are held toward future travel for one year from the date of payment

Departure Airport – Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM), Kathmandu, Nepal
Rooms and traveling solo
A private room throughout the journey is available for the $4,285 single supplement. Shared pricing is based on two people in one room; it does not guarantee that a roommate will be found for an individual booking. Twin-room layouts vary between properties, and two well-separated beds cannot be guaranteed at every stop. Please discuss your preferred arrangement with us before booking.
Travel Insurance
Va Beau strongly recommends that all travelers purchase comprehensive travel and cancellation insurance, including coverage for lost luggage, medical emergencies, and evacuation. While every effort is made to deliver the itinerary as presented, Va Beau reserves the right to make necessary changes due to circumstances beyond our control, including flight changes, political disturbances, or natural disasters.
Passports and visas
Most travellers require a visa approved before travelling to Bhutan; the included visa arrangement will be coordinated as part of your booking. Nepal requires a separate visa for most visitors, and its fee is not included. Visa eligibility, fees and application procedures depend on nationality and may change before departure.
Please check passport validity and entry requirements for both countries and any transit stops before booking flights, and again shortly before travel. Bhutan currently requires a passport valid for at least six months after your intended departure from Bhutan. You will need to provide passport details for visa arrangements and flight ticketing.
Optional arrangements
An Everest scenic flight can be requested separately, subject to weather, availability and a suitable place in the itinerary. The departure point, timing and additional price will be confirmed before booking.
In Chitwan, an optional two-night stay in a Rapti private pool villa at Taj Meghauli Serai can be quoted in place of Barahi Jungle Lodge. An additional post-tour night at Marriott in Kathmandu, with breakfast and return airport transfers, is also available. These options are not included in the journey prices above and will be quoted for your selected occupancy.
